  •   ♡   004 .   angel is a hot mess and partakes in a lot of behaviors many may view as problematic. just because i adore the character does not mean i agree with, excuse, or condone any of his actions or behaviors.

  •   ♡   005 .   triggering content will be present. this includes but is not limited to topics of physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse and misuse, exploitation, etc. i tag content warnings at my own discretion for the safety of all who follow me.

  •   ♡   006 .   this muse is a sex worker/pornstar and exhibits a hypersexuality trauma response. crass and vulgar language and behaviors will be frequent. however, i do not appreciate people hopping into my inbox or notifs and assuming i want to write that kind of stuff with them. i am not a smut machine and i am only comfortable writing that kind of content with writers i’ve gotten to know and trust to some extent. casual sexual encounters are likely to only be mentioned in passing, and i would prefer for them to be plotted to some extent beforehand.

  •   ♡   008 .   on valangel: i write this relationship in all its complexities, meaning the “highs” as well as the lows. this considered, i will never write out rape. it may be referenced, but the act itself will never be detailed in my narration. i find it unnecessary and harmful and prefer to focus on themes of empowerment and autonomy in my exploration of angel’s character.

    this relationship is abusive and, ultimately, angel wants out of it. his feelings toward valentino are complex and volatile and often cause him to repeat the cycle he’s been trapped in since they met. this means there are going to be times where his dynamic with val looks sweet and tender, even if it actually isn’t. when i write these moments, bear in mind that they are always in the broader context of the relationship not being good for angel overall, and that they are just a snapshot of a bigger picture. angel’s negative feelings toward val are always present, even when his tender feelings appear. their relationship simply isn’t black-and-white and i don’t find writing it to be all bad or all good as productive, compelling, or reflective of the real-life issues it mirrors.

    essentially, i enjoy valangel narratively and want to explore all parts of it. if you are uncomfortable with this relationship being portrayed in any way, do not follow this blog.

  •   ♡   009 .   i don’t expect every muse to get along with or like angel. he can be a huge cunt, especially to male characters. it’s fine and understandable if your muse doesn’t care for him and has an adversarial relationship with him. i just ask that if things will get violent, you come to me beforehand so it doesn’t blindside me.

  •   ♡   010 .   my portrayal of angel is intersex (click the link for more in-depth information). normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal, but given that angel works in the porn industry, many have seen his genitals and are aware that he has both “male” and “female” parts. it’s part of his appeal and how he’s become so popular in the porn world. however, i am not intersex and do not intend to offend or harm any intersex communities with my portrayal.

  •   ♡   011 .   standard rpc etiquette always applies. don’t godmod/metagame, don’t be a dick, and don’t be gross. be patient, be kind, and be mature.

  •   ♡   012 .   i don’t tend to follow those who change canon gay/lesbian characters into anything other than gay/lesbian. it is erasure and i do not care for it. note: this is a newer rule. mutuals i had before its instatement are excused. i am simply not interested in acquiring new mutuals who do this.

  •   ♡   013 .   hazbin is an ongoing series. the lore i develop is liable to change and be amended or reworked at any time. i call my portrayal canon divergent because i do favor doing what i want, but overall, i stick to the canonical spirit of the character pretty closely, and try to capture it as best i can. my goal is to always maximize the potential i see in angel and bring out the narrative best in him as a character.

  •   ♡   014 .   i’m not a diehard supporter of vivienne but i am also not hypercritical of everything she has ever done. i acknowledge that she created something i deeply enjoy and also acknowledge that it has some issues. any criticism i make of her is not intended to be bad-faith and is with affection for hazbin and what it could be.

born to a loving mother and cruel father, anthony spends the majority of his most formative years leading a double life with one foot sunken knee-deep into his father’s expectations for him to take over the family business, and the other attempting to explore the polychromatic depths of his true self unseen.      after the tragic death of his beloved mother and the subsequent sending away of his twin sister, anthony finds himself lonelier than ever, swept away in the web of crime orchestrated by his father, where he expertly wields an assault rifle and dismembers and disposes of bodies prior to the dawn of his adulthood. his father’s lack of approval toward anthony’s feminine inclinations leads anthony to attempt to  bury these parts of himself for self-preservation’s sake, as his father has no qualms about using brute force to straighten him out.      hurt, confused, and in search of a numbing agent for the ache of loneliness and lack of unconditional love, anthony follows his mother’s example in enduring his father and turns to drugs to soothe the broken mess beneath his skin. even so, his yearning for acceptance and freedom of expression easily draws him to the burgeoning queer scene, which he and his contemporaries build from the ground up. unfortunately, his access to narcotics only increases in these communities, where many others endure the same woes as him, and one night, after a series of stints with sobriety and trauma-triggered relapses, a dose too high snuffs out his dwindling light.      since his arrival in hell, anthony’s knack for survival and ability to exhibit unthinkable brutality keep him afloat, but his unending quest for love drives him into the arms of valentino, who, after a whirlwind romance, promises him the world in exchange for ownership of his body and soul. with this contract, anthony adopts the persona of ANGEL DUST, donning the name of his newfound drug of choice and promising an addictive experience to any man who can afford his steepening fee. however, as the reality of his status as property settles in, the emptiness from his human life swiftly returns, and reaches a new, plummeting low with his cognizance that he has only traded one leash for another unbreakable chain.      he’d given up hope for the sake of not going insane — but now that he’s found himself a key player in the princess of hell’s rehabilitation passion project, he figures he can at least play along for the free room and the bit of reprieve from valentino’s intensifying cruelty. yet, the more time he spends at the hazbin hotel, and the deeper a bond he forges with its residents, the more he finds himself buying into this idea of redemption, and what it could mean for an unsaveable soul like himself. will he ever know the glow of the pearly gates, and feel the warmth of his mother and sister’s arms around him once again, after nearly a century apart?      it feels like a fairy-tale. how can there be a second chance for someone who’d never even had a first?

  • mostly adheres to canon. current arc focuses on post-s2 to promote character development. after living at the hotel full-time and helping to promote its cause, angel makes the difficult decision to leave and return to v-tower to live full-time. he struggles to believe redemption is possible for him and finds himself trapped in age-old cycles in his attempts to cope.

  • covers anything set before the events of the series take place.   this is more than 80 years worth of timeline, thus, it contains several different character arcs. generally, angel lives at the vees’ tower full time and endures what feels like an endless loop of substance abuse, exploitation, and a lack of autonomy.

  • closed au with @hazbinned. angel and alastor make a deal to work together to end his contract with valentino. in the process, alastor discovers a clause that can be interpreted as soul ownership transferring under certain terms, but does not disclose to angel that he will become the owner of valentino’s soul and an overlord in the process.

  • angel navigates the many complicated feelings tat arise—he never had any interest in becoming an overlord of owning val; he’d only wanted his own freedom, and to be done with him forever. moreover, he does still care for valentino, and despite all he’s put him through, struggles with the idea of causing him any real pain … for now. as time progresses, the opportunity to exact his REVENGE becomes increasingly tempting.
